Increasing the number of local tourists to Romanian seaside figure of 40,000 from 30,000 tourists in 2012 represents a poor outcome from over a hundred thousand Bulgarian tourists who spend this time on the Bulgarian coast, according to Tourism Employers Federation and Services (TEFS).
"If we add to this result and tens of thousands of Romanians who have chosen to spend mini vacation in Bulgaria, we conclude that the Romanian tourism has been fighting with the Bulgarian uneven, and because of this are taxes too high in the Romanian" reads the Federation.
The major problem for investors in tourism in Romania is the prohibitive taxation, ie VAT of 24%, 16% tax, dividend tax of 16%.
Thus, at 100 euros, the tourism operator will pay the Romanian budget 46.37 euros, while in Bulgaria a tourism operator pays only 20% VAT, 10% tax and 10% tax on dividends, so will only 35,20 euro budget of 100 euros.
