The Haunting Castle from Lapusna
The Haunting castle Lapusna is situated in Lapusna village, Mures county, on an altitude of 815 meters, in Ghiurghiului Mountains, on the valley having the same name. It was built between 1925 and 1926 and belonged until 1949 to the royal family. Among the owners of the castle there are: Derdinand, Carol the 2nd, Mihai the 1st. As a result of the nationalization it became property of the state and during Nicolae Ceausescu it worked as a Presidential House, as a Haunting Castle, for high functions for the communist rulers.
Close to it there is Lapusna Monastery, which dates from 1779, being moved here from Comori village. The Monastery served as a sanctuary for the Royal House.
This area is ideal for sport fishing on the Giurgiu river and there are possibilities of haunting. Among these, there can also be made mountain road-tripping on the tourist track Lăpuşna – Secuieu – Seaca Mare – Bucin.
The castle was recently renovated and is in use for accommodation. It has 40 places in 16 rooms with double bed and 3 stars conditions, and the rest of 24 on 2 stars conditions.
