The Blomberg Castle from Gardani
The Bloomberg castle from Gardani, Maramures county, was built by the baron Blomberg. The count received a 500 hectares domain and 1500 hectares of forest from the emperor of the Habsburgic Empire, Iosif the 3rd. The construction of the castle started in 1780 and ended in 1821.
The castle had during time many destinations. Between 1945 and 1957 it was transformed into a school, following that from 1957 until 1963 to host republican scholar camps, and from 1963 worked as a special school for children with mind diseases.
